What is more perfect than a Cape Town wedding with a beautiful African sunset? Every now and then you experience a wedding you wish you can have over and over again because everything just fell into place perfectly. Some things can not be “coordinated”. A sunset, mist rolling over the ocean at just the right moment (look at these stunning portraits at Bakoven!), the light of the setting sun on the mountain while family and friends from all over the world celebrate a special union with good food and music… all these elements played a roll in giving Candice and Gary their dream wedding.
Candice is an American and Senior Design Operations Manager at Ralph Lauren in New York – she is beautiful, stylish, unpretentious, has an impeccable eye for detail and knew exactly what she wanted for their wedding day. Gary is South African and resides with his new bride (and soon newborn baby!) in NYC. He was determined that their wedding should be celebrated at his childhood home and where his parents still live – Geneva Slopes in Camps Bay. So, he brought his bride to Africa.
And what a good idea it was. Non-traditional weddings make us happy and that is what they wanted – an intimate gathering stripped of the expected. We loved every moment. Chic, with just a touch of Africa.

The couple also treated their guests to a personalised wine tour in the week prior to the wedding to show off true South African hospitality and top class wines. The Event Planners planned the day to the “t” and hand-picked Babylonstoren, Vrede en Lust and Tokara as the wine estates of choice.
