ABOUT THE DAY
Plettenberg Bay, the jewel of the Garden Route, is always a delight to explore — and discovering Ashford Oval was nothing short of magical. This hidden gem, with its world-class cricket facilities built in memory of the late Bill McAdam, honours his belief that cricket was a gentleman’s game and a tradition worth preserving. For this destination wedding, the orchards became the most enchanting ceremony setting, with vows exchanged beneath dappled sunlight. Guests then moved to the manicured cricket lawns for pre-drinks, the gentle hum of conversation mingling with the fresh coastal breeze. Dinner was an unforgettable feast prepared by Jacqui Carter Johnson of Nguni Restaurant, each plate a celebration of flavour and local charm. As night fell, the couple opened the dancefloor beneath a dazzling disco ball installation by Pieter from Deurieblare — a glittering canopy under which the celebrations carried on into the night.
FROM THE COUPLE
“From last-minute venue searching to my general difficulties with decision-making, it was chaotic to say the least! Niki made it happen with a smile – all the way from Cape Town. Thank you that we did not need to work or stress on our wedding day and that we could just soak up the magic.”
