7 Reasons to have an Elopement Wedding in Cape Town

There is something magical and completely romantic about elopement weddings.

It is never too early to start planning a year end function. This is an opportunity to really spoil your team, be it live or virtual. By getting an early start, you can begin to get them excited for a fabulous event that will make their hard work all worthwhile.

When planning a year end function it does not have to be another boring corporate event. This is really an opportunity to break the mould, surprise and entertain!  It can also include an awards ceremony, lucky draw prizes and so much more. Opt for a themed event and you will have your company bonding over discussions about outfits and accessories. 

Planning a year end function should not be left to the last minute. We suggest that you start sooner rather than later.

Here are some things to consider when planning a year end function:

  • Budget – Set this early to avoid a headache later in the year.
  • Who will you invite – Staff, clients, plus ones….?
  • Pick a date – The normal time for a company year end party is in the first two weeks of December, but this is not a set rule. Choose a few dates to present to prospective venues.
  • Invitations – These should be sent out earlier and include all the details about date, venue and dress code.
  • Venue – There are so many venue options to choose from and your event planner can help with your final selection.  The venue you choose will inevitably be determined by the size of event and budget.

We had a wonderful team involved in creating this exquisite setting for their perfect wedding day.

About the day

Barbara and Bruno travelled from their home in Vienna to celebrate their wedding with family and friends in South Africa.  They chose the beautiful Boschendal as their wedding venue, making use of both The Olive Press and The Werf Restaurant.  Boschendal has plenty of luxury self catering accommodation options and having all the guests stay on the farm, made the entire celebration even more special and intimate.

The ceremony took place on the lawn in front of The Olive Press, beneath a Bedouin tent and with the majestic mountains as their backdrop. After drinks and canapés, the bridal party made their way up to The Werf Restaurant for dinner and dancing.

It was such an honour to work with Barbara and Bruno and to be part of this wedding. We wish them all the happiness for their future!

About the day

Hsin and Sean stole our hearts from day one.  An inspiring couple and just so so in love – with each other and  life.  We were delighted when they chose Cavalli Estate for their multi-cultural wedding.  A combination of South African, Taiwanese and Portuguese guests ensured a very lively party and 100’s of memories.  Our favourite part of the day was the flowers flowers flowers!  Hsin opted for a very classic white look with touches of soft pink and gold.  Taiwanese guests names were translated into Mandarin on the seating plan and personalised ‘Africa’ shaped menus.  Hsin is a travel agent and included a subtle travel theme in the stationery design – printed invitations, order of service cards, seating plan, menus and thank you tags for the guests gifts (a bottle of SA wine of course!).

“Where to even begin… We were recommended The Event Planners by a friend and after meeting with Madri we decided she would be the perfect person to help us plan our big day.  She set up meetings, came along to meetings and helped coordinate everything for us – from choosing the stationery, the food tasting to the venue decor and flowers.  She suggested vendors and never overstepped or pushed ideas on us – always letting us choose what we wanted. Madri always made sure we knew what had to be done or paid for on a timely basis (it was so helpful having someone remind us of these things).
