Booking A Wedding Planner

Wedding coordinators are pretty much gifts from the gods. Knights in shining armour, usually working behind the scenes, bursting at the seams to make sure that your nuptials turn out even more successful than you have dreamt. A good wedding planner resembles a swan gliding across the surface of a pond while the unseen legs below and paddling hard!

If you have just gotten engaged then you might be considering employing the services of a wedding planner. Below you will find some reasons this is a good idea.

Cost Effective

Don’t worry about rumours that event coordinators are a waste of money or too expensive. Professional event coordinators can benefit you in so many ways, one of which is delivering the wedding you have in mind without the stress-factor. Especially if you are planning a destination wedding and are based in a different country. They are trained and experienced in handling all levels of event management, from invitations to venue selection, menu details to flowers and decor, music and entertainment to lighting requirements and photography. They are able to match your style, personality and budget to the most suitable and trustworthy service providers, without you having to work through 100’s of options, never knowing if you have ticked all the “wedding planning” boxes.

Coordinators Know What Works And What Does Not

Even if you have researched wedding planning tips, you won’t be able to multitask and be everywhere on your wedding day. You do need someone who knows what works and what does not. Your wedding day defines who you are, so you do not want to make costly mistakes or have to deal with an unforeseen behind-the-scenes crisis while you would rather be celebrating and be present with your guests. Reputable and established coordinators know the pitfalls to avoid and rocks to climb to make your wedding unforgettable.

You Want To Get Married, Not Organize

Chances are, because you want to have the wedding of your dreams, you started searching for ideas and other beautiful weddings that took place at your favourite venue. And that’s where it should end. It is ideal to enjoy a stress-free wedding day and let your event coordinator liaise with the all the service providers, taking your ideas, turning it into reality while ensuring everything runs smoothly –  just as you envisioned.

Styling

Your wedding coordinator is not just a great organiser (and bride’s best friend), they are also creatives. You will probably have some ideas for your wedding, but your wedding planner will help with all styling and concept development, from the design of your invite through every detail of the wedding.

Here is a list of services we provide our couples:

  • Finding your perfect wedding venue
  • Assistance in budget determination and breakdown as needed
  • Discussion of theme, colour, style and complete wedding design
  • Research of wedding professionals in each category that fit your event style and budget and to provide you with suggestions and guidance in making the final selections
  • Attending vendor appointments where necessary
  • Visit to both ceremony and reception sites prior to wedding
  • Development of a detailed wedding timeline and floor plan for contracted vendors and bridal party
  • On-site coordination and supervision at the ceremony site and during the
reception for up to 12 hours on the day of your wedding

If you don’t want to stress AND deliver a grand event on the day, a wedding coordinator is a priceless assistant you should bring on board.

An Indian Fusion Wedding

An Indian Fusion Wedding

We are very excited to share the images of the vintage Indian Fusion Wedding of Meghna and Andrew.  Meghna is known to her friends as a dynamic woman with an eye for detail and Andrew as an English wordsmith with a heart of gold.  What an amazing couple!  The couple chose the stunning Molenvliet Wine Estate as their wedding venue and with guests flying in from around the world, this was the perfect spot to show off the amazing beauty our country offers.

We will let the images speak for themselves, but it must be said that the first conversation we had with Meghna was about her vision for the ceremony canopy she wished to have designed built.  She knew exactly what she wanted and Angie from My Pretty Vintage got it 100% spot on!

Thank you to all the amazing suppliers who made this wedding possible and to Meghna and Andrew for trusting us with your dream.  Scroll down to the bottom to see our list of suppliers.

“Niki and Madri, it has been a journey and a real pleasure working with both of you… your little touches of checking on me and being a split second away from rescuing any and every situation made you both a fabulous team!

Thank you for making our wedding day so extra special!  We just wanted to let you know that all the running around, the solicited opinions, the intent to make it a memorable series of moments has not gone unnoticed and we are truly grateful to all of you for being an excellent team.”

A Marriage Proposal in Cape Town

A Marriage Proposal in Cape Town

We absolutely love it when we are asked to help plan a marriage proposal in Cape Town! The options are endless and the first thing to do is find that perfect spot.  In this case I think we nailed it!  Our dashing groom-to-be, Jonathan… wanted an experience that would be a lasting memory, down to the exact song to be played as he got onto one knee.  And it all had to happen on the 31st of December.

Our photographer, Carla from BlueCheri Photography, accompanied the couple on their trip from the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town to the breathtaking Lothian House in Elgin.  This a private residence that can be hired for weddings, events… and now proposals.  They had the entire property to themselves and as you will see by the pictures, they made good use of it.

As they enjoyed lunch, prepared by a private chef, they were serenaded by Ike Moriz and his band.  Just as planned, as dessert was served, Ike sang ‘You Make Me Feel So Young‘ by Frank Sinatra and Jonathan made his move!

Jonathan and Amy were then able to relax a bit and make use of the venue’s jacuzzi, swimming pool and jet skis before being flown back to the waterfront by Cape Town Helicopters.
