COUPLE

Dana and Jason

ABOUT THE DAY

I loved every moment of planning this day. Watching it unfold was like a dream, almost effortless, because we had envisioned each space, each moment a million times! Dana and Jason, a blend of South African and Australian heritage, brought their guests to the stunning Franschhoek Valley for a multi-day wedding celebration, culminating in a magnificent feast at La Roche. While there were many favourite moments for us, one unexpected highlight was the cricket pitch requested by Jason! (A big thank you to La Roche for accommodating this unique request!). It was a fantastic way to keep the cricket enthusiasts entertained throughout the pre-drinks and even after sundown, elevating the “lawn games” trend to new heights. We invite you to scroll through these images to capture a glimpse of this perfect day and gorgeous couple. Kikitography captured every heart-felt moment and detail with such care, it made the task of choosing images out of 100’s for this post almost impossible! Each couple shoot photo looks like timeless masterpiece. Enjoy!

FROM THE COUPLE

“Our first time meeting Madri was at our friends wedding, 2 years prior to our own. Once we saw her in action; subtly commanding the room and flawlessly executing the perfect day for our friends, we knew we wanted her to do the same for us.

We are located in Australia, so a lot of the planning was done over email and video calls. Madri was EXCELLENT at keeping us accountable, and making sure we hit deadlines. We’re not people who are great at making decisions, but Madri was on us like green on grass to make sure we were hitting targets. All the while, she made sure to keep within our budget, suggesting alternatives if costs started to creep up.

Also, her list of trusted suppliers and contacts is extensive; they (like her) proved to be reliable, experienced and amazing at what they do. From the caterers, waiters and stylists, to the cellists and DJ, all were Madri’s tried and true contacts, and truly the gold standard in services.

I could go on forever about how easy and stress-free the whole process was, but rather I want to focus on just a few of the truly kind ways she went the extra mile for us:

  • When we arranged to trip Cape Town to secure a wedding venue, she made sure she was available for us every day to view venues and come to styling appointments.
  • She drove out of her way to pick-up and deliver cake samples to our hotel to try, so they were waiting for us when we arrived off the plane.
  • Reaching out to restaurants and establishments to help us plan our Hens/Bucks nights. When venues won’t get back to us over email, she would call to find out what we needed and give recommendations to help us plan what we were after.
  • Working with us to plan and cater a morning-after event at our accommodation, which included the hiring of furniture, cooking equipment and another menu for the day.
  • She attended our table mock with NConcepts as we were in Australia at the time. She took photos and videos, sending them to us in realtime, and staying with the stylist to relay our feedback and adjust the tables accordingly. She stayed for hours, SO patiently taking the time to get the layout just right for us.
  • Liaising with our Wedding venue on some very specific requests; namely cutting a cricket pitch into their lawn!

But perhaps one of the best things about Madri (apart from being incredibly organised) she is honest; when she thought there was a better option available, or she wasn’t sure we had chosen right, she let us know! I so appreciated the input from her, and that she didn’t just say ‘yes’ to everything we said. After all, she is the expert in her field with years of experience, and it shows. After a short time, we trusted her judgement and suggestions above all others. And our reward for that? Our wedding day was the most incredible day of our lives, and we can never thank Madri enough for making it happen. Throughout the process, she became much more like a friend, and we genuinely miss talking to her most days.

Even after the celebrations, Madri met up with us before we flew back to Australia for (what ended up being!) a long brunch, where we chatted for hours. First a wedding planner for our best friends, and now a life-long friend, we will see Madri whenever we go back to Cape Town, such is her influence in our lives.”
