A Modern Indian Wedding in Cape Town

Sep 7, 2016 | Blog, Weddings

The client brief:  An elegant, modern, white-on-white wedding for 100 guests traveling from all over the world and South Africa. A minimalist, traditional Indian ceremony and reception, combined with Western customs.  Exquisite and strictly vegetarian food and wine.  A memorable after-party.

You certainly don’t hear the words “minimalist” and  “Indian wedding” in the same sentence often.  And we were over the moon.  To combine the rich Indian wedding history and intricate ceremony traditions with modern and minimalist design was going to be a challenge.

To kick off the festivities and welcome guests traveling from afar, an intimate dinner was hosted at Longridge Wine Estate on the night prior to the wedding.  Thank you Longridge for your good service and wonderful personalised vegetarian menu.  Waterkloof Wines situated in Somerset West is no stranger to the South African food and wine connoisseur and was also the obvious choice for our clients.  The majestic building, unending views over False Bay and the food…  the food was to be strictly vegetarian and chef Gregory Czarnecki’s menu was one of the highlights of the evening.

We loved the chic details and how each element was carefully chosen to perfectly fit into the couple’s vision for their wedding day.

Thank you for your love, generosity and down-to-earth approach – we enjoyed so much working with you!

“One year later and we still talk about how effortless and magical you helped our wedding day become. Or guests still talk over how amazing our wedding day was.  You truly made our day extra special and are such a great team to work with.  We did not have to worry about a thing and everything turned out more magical than we could have imagined.  It was an absolute pleasure working with you and we would highly recommend The Event Planners. Thank you for everything!”
